Dear Friend,
Today is the feast day of St. Gianna Beretta Molla (1922–1962), an Italian Catholic pediatrician and the patron saint of mothers, physicians, and unborn children.
St. Gianna Beretta Molla was among the last group of saints canonized by Pope St. John Paul II in 2004. How fitting a capstone to his pontificate: Her heroic witness exemplified Evangelium Vitae—the Gospel of Life—one of the great encyclicals of his magisterium.
Honor St. Gianna Molla today with a gift in support of Word on Fire’s mission and we will send you these beautiful foil prayer cards.

St. Gianna enthusiastically dedicated her life to serving others as a wife, mother, and physician, with special attention given to the elderly and poor. Early in her last pregnancy, she became very sick and heroically opted for treatment that protected her unborn child. She entrusted herself to prayer and providence.
On April 28, seven days after delivering a healthy baby girl, St. Gianna succumbed to complications from the birth. Her life, spent in charity and service to others, culminated in a complete gift of self united to the cross.
Whenever life, from conception to natural death, is threatened, may we have the strength and courage to proclaim the gospel of life and, like St. Gianna, place our complete trust in God. If you are inclined, make a gift to support Word on Fire today.
St. Gianna Beretta Molla, pray for us!
God bless you,
The Word on Fire Team
