March 21 is World Down Syndrome Day. Last year on this same occasion, Word on Fire presented a very special prayer book for people with developmental disabilities: Let Us Pray: Catholic Prayers for All Abilities by Mark Bradford, the Word on Fire Institute's Fellow for Persons with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.
Thanks to our supporters, this book was presented for free to various organizations and institutions throughout the country. We later made the book available for purchase in the Word on Fire Bookstore for anyone who wanted access to it.
Let Us Pray: Catholic Prayers for All Abilities is a simple guide to prayer, one showing readers how to talk with God and grow in love through gratitude, adoration, forgiveness, and compassion. The book was specially designed for adults with an intellectual disability and uses a custom typeface created with dyslexic readers in mind.
On World Down Syndrome Day, we remember that people of all abilities are created in the image and likeness of God. This year, we are glad to send this special book as a token of appreciation to anyone supporting Word on Fire's Fellowship for Persons with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Fund.
